General Features of the Hydraulic system
The power generator for the Backacter (and all other hydraulic systems on the Dredge) is located in the engine room. Depending on the Backacter type 2 Main or 1 Main and a smaller Diesel engine drive hydraulic pumps (and thus also ensuring redundancies) .

The hydraulics and the engine are watercooled with sea water (instead of salted sea air at a classic excavator). This provide us a stable cooling and thus a better life time. Gravity filling is applied for the hydraulic pumps is applied and the hydraulic tank is not pressurized.

We have no fixed pump assignment to a user (like Liebherr). The PLC control system can (limited to the hydraulic layout) switch any pomp to a user and thus enhancing flexibility and thus performance of the Backacter.
